Linda Milton-Gorvie
Trustee-Secretary
I am Linda Milton-Gorvie. I am a Christian and married with 2 children. I enjoy travelling and reading. I have spent more than 20 years working in Health and Social Care, supporting people with a wide range of needs. Over the years, I have managed care homes, worked in various frontline roles, and now serve as a Resettlement Housing Manager. My work has brought me alongside people facing homelessness, trauma, neurodiversity, and other complex challenges, and it has taught me just how much the right support can change someone’s life.
Through this experience, I’ve seen first-hand how systems can support autistic people—but also how they can unintentionally make things harder, especially when communication barriers, cultural misunderstandings, or limited access to services get in the way. Within the Afro-Caribbean community, these challenges can be even more pronounced, and that’s something I am deeply passionate about helping to change. I am someone who values compassion, dignity, and hope, and those values guide the way I work. I enjoy bringing people together, improving services, sup-porting teams, and making sure that individuals feel seen, heard, and understood. I believe strongly in person-centred practice and in creating environments where people can thrive in their own way.
The mission of the Ashley Hope Autistic Charity really resonates with me. I want to use my leader-ship experience, my understanding of diverse communities, and my commitment to inclusion to contribute to the charity’s long-term work. Being a Trustee feels like a natural next step, an opportunity to help shape something meaningful, amplify autistic voices, and support a cause that aligns closely with my values and faith. I’m excited about the possibility of helping the charity grow, strengthening its impact, and working with others to ensure autistic individuals who are too often overlooked have the support, recognition, and opportunities they deserve
